Barrett founded Coastal Real Estate Services in July 2009. He graduated with honors from Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in May 2007. He also holds a Master of Real Estate Development degree from Clemson University, which he completed in May 2009. In June of 2007, he started work on the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and to date, he has completed CI-101 Financial Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate, CI-102 Market Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate, and CI-103 User Decision Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate. In addition, he has completed CCIM Institute training on the use of advanced mapping and research tools. In September 2007, he passed the South Carolina Unlimited General Contractor Technical, Business Law, and Management exams.
